Forensic Psychologist

Dr Mariam Zanganeh is a Forensic Psychologist and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. Mariam has twenty-years experience working in a range of health care settings with young people, and adult male and female clients. Alongside working in private practice Mariam continues to work as a principal psychologist in the NHS.  

Mariam offers assessment and therapeutic intervention tailored to the needs of the individuals and their family for a range of psychological difficulties including depression, anxiety, adjustment to life events, relational and interpersonal difficulties and difficulties associated with complex trauma related to abuse and domestic violence. She has worked extensively with people experiencing personality disorders, depression, various forms of anxiety, schizophrenia, and bi-polar disorder.  

She uses an integrative approach to provide idiosyncratic interventions that draw upon various models of psychological theories including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical behaviour therapy and Compassion focussed therapy. She is qualified in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy. Mariam also provides teaching, training, and supervision to members of staff. 

Mariam is authentic, engaging and places emphasis on the therapeutic relationship in her practice. A strong advocate of preventative person-centred practice, herself regularly receiving clinical supervision to further enhance her own practice.
