Dr Sarah Cross is a Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care professions council (HCPC). She has been working in the field of psychological assessment, intervention, and research since 2006, across a range of private and NHS settings including: custodial and secure settings; adult learning disability; eating disorder services; acute hospitals; community healthcare; and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). Since qualifying as a clinical psychologist in 2016, she has specialised in working with attachment and complex trauma. However, she also provides psychological therapy for a range of difficulties including: mood disorders such as depression and anxiety; offending; Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD); Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD); low self-esteem and; eating difficulties.
In addition to her one-to-one, group and family work, she has considerable experience of facilitating psycho-educational groups and training for clients, their families, and professional networks around them. Dr Cross has experience of developing and delivering one-off training and training packages in a variety of contexts, and in the delivery of trauma and attachment-based training. She has developed and delivered training to staff working with sexual abuse survivors, delivered group-based parenting programs, trained professionals in applying CBT-informed techniques, taught on specific mental health problems, along with having facilitated teaching at both the Oxford and Coventry & Warwick Clinical Psychology courses.
Alongside therapeutic work, Dr Cross is able to offer psychological consultation, supervision and training services to teams and staff within complex and challenging teams, with the aim of supporting knowledge and practice. She offers case consultation and develops formulations with staff to consider psychologically-informed ideas to facilitate a shared understanding of client needs.
