Rachel Hewitt-Hall

Within her work as a therapist, Rachel uses a range of interventions, depending on individual needs. Rachel aims to create a safe, empathic and non-judgemental environment in which clients can explore and better understand themselves. She believes appropriate humour is important and yes, it is OK to swear!

Working integratively is like having a toolbox; depending on the issue, Rachel uses different tools to address the problem. Therapy is not about her ‘fixing’, or giving advice and opinions, its more about working collaboratively with a client to help them to understand themselves even better and finding the resources they need to guide themselves through life.

The counselling world is full of jargon which can be daunting when making an important step in considering seeking support. Rachel will endeavour to answer queries and put a clients mind at ease. Change is possible whatever issues clients are facing in their lives.

Rachel has been the Managing Director of a global learning and development company, so understands the pressures and challenges of the working environment, including leading and managing people. She believes her background in people development and coaching further enhances her counselling practice. Rachel therefore also offers Personal Consultancy which is a framework for integrating coaching with counselling. This approach gives the flexibility to address external issues as well as explore internal thoughts and feelings.

Rachel is passionate about the outdoors and how nature can have a positive impact on mental wellbeing, and offers walk and talk  Nature Therapy where appropriate.

As a member of the BACP, Rachel adheres to their Ethical Framework for Counselling and Psychotherapy and has professional indemnity insurance and regular clinical supervision. She has also worked for charitable organisations, working with adults and young people with a range of presenting issues. Rachel has been an Advocate, representing under 18s at Child Protection Conferences, and a Clinical Supervisor, overseeing the work of other therapists.

Rachel offers face-to-face, online and phone counselling.
