Tracey Derrick

Integrative Children and Young People Counsellor

Tracey is currently studying for an MSc in Counselling children and young people at University of Northampton. With over twenty years of experience working with children and young people, previously as a registered manager of children’s residential care homes, Tracey has worked with children experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties, adverse childhood experiences, trauma and neurological conditions, such as autism spectrum disorders, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). More recently Tracey has worked as a family contact supervisor for Northamptonshire Children’s Trust, along with her counselling placement providing therapy for children at Relate Coventry and Warwickshire.

Recognising the complexity and diversity of human experiences, Tracey strongly believes in adopting an integrative approach to counselling. This approach allows her to draw upon various therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, play therapy, family systems theory, and mindfulness techniques. By tailoring interventions to meet the specific needs of each client, Tracey aims to create a safe and supportive space where healing and growth can occur.
