What is Bipolar Disorder?

Bipolar disorder affects your mood, causing it to swing between extreme positions. In a depressed episode you may feel extremely low, lethargic, and lacking in motivation and energy, however, during a Manic episode you may feel very high and energetic. Unlike general mood swings, bipolar episodes can last for weeks, and at times even months.
