I am a qualified counsellor, psychotherapist and clinical supervisor with over ten years’ experience working as a therapist in the Northamptonshire area. I have worked in further educational settings, the charitable sector and within my own independent practice.
I have extensive experience of working with a wide range of general mental health issues such as anxiety and depression, as well as more severe and enduring psychological issues such as personality difficulties, and significant life experiences such as trauma and abuse.
I have additional training and expertise as a couple’s therapist and work with couples and individuals who may be experiencing relationship difficulties, and who may have been impacted by attachment difficulties.
I have significant experience working with neurodivergent clients, including those who may have been diagnosed with an autistic spectrum condition (ASD), or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). I offer support in considering ways to build stronger communication within relationships and help to bridge the gap between neurodivergent and / or neurotypical thinkers. I offer this through individual or couples therapy, for example, where one or both clients may be neurodivergent.
I believe everyone deserves to be respected and heard without judgement and offer therapy to meet individual needs in the hope to help you understand your unique experiences, process and make sense of your responses, and to empower you to gain autonomy, recognise you have choices and identify constructive changes you can make.
When working with couples or groups, I commit to acknowledging your individual experiences as well as helping you develop awareness of the experiences of others. I offer a supportive, neutral environment to enable everyone to speak and be heard while exploring where misunderstandings, unhelpful patterns of behaviour or disrupted attachments impede communication and have a negative impact on the relationship. I don’t judge or take sides but offer observations, strategies and an impartial perspective.
I am also a qualified clinical supervisor, supporting and supervising trainees and qualified therapists in their work with clients and their continued professional development.
I offer in-person sessions from my therapy studio in Kettering, Northamptonshire. I also offer online sessions or a hybrid of in-person and online.
