Hello! I’m Dr Jessica Conrad-Czaja and I’m a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I have worked across a range of mental health services with children, adults, and families since 2010. Since qualifying as a clinical psychologist in 2018, I have mainly worked with children experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties, often linked to disrupted early attachments and developmental or complex trauma. I also have a great deal of experience and training in working with those with disordered eating.
I draw upon a range of therapeutic approaches to provide psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention. Rather than focusing on ‘what is wrong’ with someone, my hope is always to create a shared understanding of ‘what has happened’ in someone’s life, what sense they have made of their experiences and how they have coped and responded within this context. I believe that having a shared understanding helps us to work out what might be needed for my clients to work towards their needs being met in ways that align with their values and future hopes. I am also able to offer neurodevelopmental assessment where this might be helpful to understand someone’s experiences and needs.
I offer independent psychological care at a Northamptonshire-based clinic and am also available to offer this online.
In addition to my independent practice, I work for a child and adolescent (CAMHS) inpatient service within the NHS, providing psychological input for young people who are experiencing complex difficulties, as well as their families and their staff team. Across my roles, I work closely with partner agencies such as schools, healthcare or the wider family if this is thought to be helpful.
I am passionate about psychologically informing the ways in which people are understood and cared for in all settings through training, consultation, and supervision which I also offer in my role with. Serendipity Psychology.
